Pritzker Announces $42 Million Water Assistance Program for Low-Income Households

To help low-income families unable to pay water and sewer bills avoid shutoffs, Governor JB Pritzker and DCEO recently announced the new $42 million Low-Income Household Water Assistance Plan (LIHWAP), under the Help Illinois Families (HIF) initiative. Funded in part through ARPA, LIHWAP builds on $327 million in emergency assistance launched earlier this year for income eligible families facing difficulty with paying utility and other essential household bills.

After Hours Drop Box Now Available

Residents and businesses may pay their water bills by check via the night deposit box located immediately to the left of the Village Hall’s main entrance, 2440 Walter Zimny Drive. Enclose your check in an envelope with the remittance stub from your invoice.  Be sure to include your Account Number on your check and a phone number in case there are any questions. .

Free Face Masks Still Available at Village Hall

The Village of Posen in cooperation with Cook County are giving away for free cloth Facemasks. The masks are available for pick up at the Village Hall during normal business hours Monday through Friday 9am to 5pm and Saturdays 9am-Noon. There is a limit of 2 masks per household members up to 5 members. There is just a short simple form to complete which can be downloaded below and brought into the Village hall to receive your masks. Forms are available at the window as well.
